Dani Parejo has now scored seven times in LaLiga in 2018/19, and is Valencia CF's top goal-getter in the league. The captain was on the mark again in the meeting with Girona, and expressed his pleasure on an individual and team level with the 2-3 result.
"We always believed. We were coming into this one off a good dynamic and we took away the three points thanks to our consistency and will to win all the time," he explained after the final whistle.
"When we went behind, with the score level and us having been in front twice, a point might not have been a bad result. This was an important game, and winning meant that we would keep that good run going. It takes us closer to the top spots, and I think that we deserved a victory like this. It shows that Valencia CF fight to the end in every game," added the skipper.
"We're at a crucial moment of the season. You're seeing a better Valencia CF side since January: Much better, different and more reliable. Since the game against Alaves, we've competed at every ground and shown that we don't give up."
"For my own good and that of the team, I'd like the strikers to have many more goals than I do. They've been playing well for a while, with goals and assists, and thanks to them we're seeing an improvement in the team."
